Prompt: Which part of building an argument is most challenging for you, and why?

 Prompt Response: I struggle the most with crafting my claim in an argument. Because it is the first part of your argument, I feel I have to do it perfectly since the claim sets up the whole argument. I also struggle because I often add too much when crafting my argument, like extra words and unnecessary sentences. Sometimes my claim is also too short or too long, and that really hurts my overall argument. Overall, crafting the claim is the most challenging for me.

Summary: Wednesday in class, we took notes on crafting a good argumentative paragraph. We also looked over our quiz and argumentative paragraph results. We also practiced good claims and how to create a good argument as a class.

Reflection: This will help me with my argumentative paragraph skills and improving on my mistakes. This will help me with future assignments, tests, and quizzes involving argumentative paragraphs.

 Prompt Response: The learning method I enjoy most is hands-on activities. I really enjoy hands-on activities because it gives me practice but also makes the lecture or activity fun at the same time, so I am getting both good ends of the deal. I also work better when doing hands-on activities because I really enjoy doing them. Lastly, I am also very involved in hands on activites amd I typically do much better when I am up moving around or being active in an activity, so that is another reason why hands-on activities are the most beneficial method that I can do while also enjoying doing it as well. Prompt: Talk about a time when you had to write a poem, whether it was for an assignment, event, or special occasion. What was the writing process like for you, and were you proud of the finished product?

 Prompt Response: A time I had to write a poem was last year in my pre-AP Language Arts class. Our class was doing our poetry unit, where we had to write a poem from the point of view of an everyday object. I chose to write about a pencil. The writing process was very smooth; I primarily focused on my rhyme scheme, and it worked very well. I also didn't have to stop and think mid-poem about what to write next; everything clicked. Ultimately, I was very pleased with the end result of my poem; it looked very professional, had a good rhyme scheme, and was quite humorous.  Summary: Monday in class, we analyzed a poem called "Constantly Risking Absurdity" by Lawrence Ferlinghetti. We took notes and highlighted important information in this poem to help answer a worksheet we would be doing in class on Tuesday.
