Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you.

Prompt Response: A conversation that changed me for the better was back in eighth grade. I did the bare minimum in eighth grade; I never really tried too hard on assignments or studied for big tests or quizzes. My parents then had a talk with me. My parents explained to me that I need to start studying and putting my best effort into my assignments because high school will be a lot harder and will really define my future. They knew I was capable of turning in better work and getting better grades, and after that positive conversation I had with them, I knew what I had to do in order to succeed in high school. Now to this day, I always put my best effort into assignments, and I always make sure to study for big tests and quizzes.

Summary: On Tuesday, in class, after reading and analyzing a poem called "Constantly Risking Absurdity" by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, our class and I then had to complete a paper assignment answering questions about this poem. The paper assignment was due by the end of class for a grade.

Reflection: This assignment helped me with thinking outside the box about what the question is asking me. I feel this assignment also helped me with my time management, completing this assignment on time, and my note-taking skills back on Monday. I feel that after this lesson, I can complete assignments like this accurately and timely.
